Jury Awards over $1 million to Silver Lakes Vacation Club Members

A jury awarded more then $1 million dollars to 136 Silver Lakes Vacation Club Timeshare Members who alleged that the resort fraudulently imposed assessments to upgrade the facility.

The jury deliberated for less then 1 hour before all 12 jurors found that the president of Silver Lakes Vacation Club should pay punitive damages as he and the past general manager had committed fraud, malice and oppression as well as breach of contract and illegal assessments. The plaintiffs claimed the association charged them with "illegal assessments" to pay for the $3 million upgrades without their approval.
